Central Park:

The backyard of New York is Central Park. It is one of the most famous locations and draws many tourists from all over the world. The Central Park receives around 37.5 visitors per day, and it is undoubtedly commendable. Visitors have been flocking into Manhattan’s 843 acres of Central Park for more than 150 years. Here, several sequences for films and television have been shot. The Central Park Conservancy oversees the park in collaboration with the general population. Every day from 6 am to 1 am, it is open.

The park looks like a small green patch within the grid of Manhattan streets but in reality, it is a wide space with plenty of sights and activities that can keep you happily busy for various days. This park has a lot of attractions, from astounding architecture, meadows, playgrounds, historical monuments and charming gardens to the skating rinks. It offers different opportunities to have fun time with your friends and family.

Bethesda Terrace is known for its captivating Bethesda Fountain and the Mall, an idyllic, expansive pathway canopied by the arching limbs of centuries old American elms, begins at the terrace. You can find various relaxing spots to relax, like the formal Conservatory Garden, the Shakespeare Garden or the famed Chess & Checkers House.

It has something for everyone. Kids can have fun time at the Central Park Zoo, which drags their attention to the sea lions, penguins and other animals. The younger ones would love to take a ride on the historic Carousel. The wide lush green lawns and numerous playgrounds can keep your little ones busy for the day.

Hechscher Playground, which is located in the middle of the park between 61st and 63rd Streets, has a sizable sprinkler area that may be used to cool off your children on a hot day. There are slides, plenty of sandboxes, climbing walls, and lots of open space for kids to run around in.

The Billy Johnson playground right next to the zoo highlights a stone slide which is loved by the kids. Various ponds also add to the beauty of this place, where you can have an entertaining picnic. For a magical fairy tale experience, Romantic couples can tour the park on a horse-drawn carriage.

In 1980, John Lennon was brutally assassinated in front of the Dakota apartments, which are just off the park’s west side; his memorial, Strawberry Fields, is located there. The word “Imagine” is engraved in a mosaic on the road; it is the name of a John Lennon song from 1971.

The Peace Garden is made up of one plant species from each of the 161 variations of the Vaux and Olmstead landscape. Furthermore, the park has declared this area as a serene area. As one of the chief attractions, the memorial is frequently photographed by visitors to the park.

  1. Belvedere Castle:

In Italian Belvedere means beautiful, which is wholly true about this small enchanting castle, offering a stunning view of the park and city from its rooftop. Belvedere Castle is a stone castle sitting atop Vista Rock. This miniature castle was built in 1869 and serves as a visitor’s center and nature observatory for the pleasure of the public. After its gradual ruination it was restored and reopened in the 1980s. A visitor center and gift shop is located inside it. This remarkable castle was skillfully designed by designers Jacob Mould and Calvert Vaux. Initially it was open-air but it was walled when it transformed into a meteorological observatory in 1919.

In the North you can see the open green space of the Great Lawn and the Delacorte theatre, where every summer some notable people perform free Shakespearean productions. In the south is the forest area called the Ramble. The weather for Central Park is calculated from the top of the castle.

  1. The Central Park Zoo:

More than 130 species can be spotted at Central Park Zoo, which is just around the 5th avenue. It is the small corner of the tropics in the middle of New York City. More than five acres that constitute the zoo are used to recreate the animals’ natural habitat. To become more acquainted with the animals and their surroundings you should compete in the Central Park Zoo Quest. The Central Park Zoo has a collection of animals from the Asia, Polar Regions and the California Coast. Keep a check for red pandas, snow leopards and snow monkeys in the temperate territory. Visit the Polar Regions to see the infamous penguins. Lemurs, California sea lions and grizzly bears are some of the noteworthy species.

One of Central Park’s most prominent architectural features is the Bethesda Fountain, which sits on Bethesda Terrace between the Lake and the Mall. The Angel of the Waters statue and the fountain were both dedicated in 1842 and 1873, accordingly. Jacob Mould designed the tile and frieze detailing in the double staircase’s Spanish-style. The terrace is a well-admired location for pictures and an unwinding spot.

In front of the Bethesda Terrace is where you’ll come across the Bethesda Fountain. You will reach Central Park Mall if you pass past the Bethesda Terrace.
