The Prudential Center:

The Prudential Centre is a sizable indoor arena that serves many different purposes, and it is situated on Lafayette Street in Newark’s core business center. It holds various events, from exciting sports matches to entertaining concerts. The venue serves numerous, promising events. The Centre, which opened in 2007, routinely holds over 17,000 spectators for hockey games and over 18,000 spectators for basketball games. It has a capacity of approximately 16514. The Prudential Center is owned by Josh Harris and David Blitzer under Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. The Prudential Centre, sometimes known as “The Rock,” is a venue for exceptional events including Disney on Ice and music concerts.   • Professional hockey:

The Prudential Center mainly serves as the home arena for the New Jersey Devils, a National Hockey League franchise. The center is home court of the NCAA’s Seton Hall Pirates men’s basketball team. The arena arranges games for Seton Hall Pirates women’s basketball team and the NJIT Highlanders men’s basketball team.

  • Professional basketball:

The Prudential Center was primarily home of the New Jersey Nets, but the team was sold to real estate developer Bruce Ratner. While considering a potential relocation, the Nets played two preseason games at the Prudential Centre in the fall of 2009. The Nets finished an agreement to relocate to the Prudential Centre following the victory of the preseason games held there. Nets played their last game at Prudential Center. The Nets relocated to the Barclays Center to become the Brooklyn Nets at the starting of the 2012-2-13 NBA season. Women’s national Basketball Association played home games at Prudential Center due to renovations at Madison Square Garden.

  • Martial Arts:

The arena holds a series of UFC events. The first one was in 2007. In 2010, the arena held UFC 111. In 2011 the arena held UFC 128, in 2013 the arena held UFC 159. In 2014 the arena held UFC 169. In 2015 the arena held UFC on Fox. In 2023, the arena held UFC 288.

  • Concerts and live productions:

The arena held MTV Video Music Awards numerous times in current years, such as, Ice Spice, Bad Bunny, Billie Filish, Marc Anthony, Dua Lipa, and Chris Rock. The venue hosts K-Pop like BTS, EXO and Blackpink.

Fan Fest:

Fans of the New Jersey Devils can attend Fan Fest on Championship Plaza outside Prudential Centre prior to each home playoff game. The interactive, free event happens from 5 to 7 p.m. The arena’s doors will remain open to the public until 6 p.m. despite the special 7:30 p.m. start time. A live DJ, face painting, a video game truck, and plenty of dynamic games and activities for fans of all ages are all part of the celebrations.
